6 Reasons why you should Binge Brooklyn Nine-Nine!

We all know how summers can either be good or bad. (there's NO in between, trust us) All year round, we all wish for the vacations to start so we can binge on all our favourite shows and left over seasons once the painful school term ends. (Because there's always a "will watch the rest after my exams" in every person's lives) But guess what can be the worst scenario? You're out of shows to watch and you seriously have nothing better to do. Your much awaited summer vacation pre-planning might go in vain. (Especially if your routine goes from 5 in the morning till 3 in the afternoon, and oh well, you don't have any job or internship, Whoops.)

You need not to worry! We have got it all covered for you! Here we present to you all the reasons that will force you to watch this Netflix show, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE! and also compel you into accepting it as one of the BEST TV shows you've ever watched. All the four seasons till date will make up for all the time you've spent bored with nothing to do at all.

Brooklyn Nine Nine is a police comedy show that focuses on a squad in their work environment, in this case, a police precinct.

1) It is HIL-AR-IOUS (without being offensive, just by the way!)

Unfortunately, we are all way used to seeing hardcore criminal shows like Criminal Minds etc. and police dramas, but none of them can be categorized as being a part of the comedy genre. Nine Nine is a one stop show where you find a gush of all genres from drama to comedy to crime to DRAMEDY! This show has never failed to make us laugh with the witty jokes and the unexpected puns. Whenever you hear about a police related season, you'd expect it to consist of twists and turns and the same boring and monotonous script of solving cases, BUT, Nine Nine includes a race of solving cases but with a whole lot of exciting and hilarious punches.

Whether it is about relationships, unsolvable cases or a major crisis, the extra-ordinarily different and sarcastic personalities of all the characters win the game.

2) A diverse group of main characters

You might have seen a lot of shows and seasons who only deal with white people as part of their main characters and usually to avoid any risks or discrimination in any way. However, this is NOT the case in Nine Nine, where the leader and the controller, the CAPTAIN, is a black man and not only this but a homosexual too. The show consists of two black men, two Latina women and two white people. All the characters are different from each other and have the ability to make you laugh and burst to tears in their very own way. And trust us, you'll love it.

3) All the characters are relatable and not-so-stereotypical (NO FAVORITISM)

Nine Nine characters contain multitudes and steer away from all stereotypes. For example, one of the detectives, Rosa Diaz is not even close to what a girl is expected of; a leather-wearing, motorbike riding badass who would rather jump out of a car than talk her heart out, but still has moments where she gets emotionally vulnerable too. Jake Peralta, who is an immature yet a not-so-complying to the rules kind of a cop, is one of the main characters too. You are going to love how he handles all his relationships, one with his boss (the iconic captain), one during his bro-mance with Charles Boyle, another with the love of his life, Amy Santiago and others with his childhood friend Gina Linetti. The constant sarcasm and punches he adds to his conversation with each and every one on the squad. Gina Linetti, who according to us IS the Sarcasm Queen and the Drama Queen.

4) Well handled romantic relationships

Brooklyn Nine Nine is one show which handles relationships with a light hand, rather than the unnecessary romantic details that every other show portrays too. Interpersonal relationships are given more emphasis rather than romantic relationships which are not given more weight than friendships too.

One important thing about the episodes is that the individuals and partners who are together with each other, hardly interact with each other in some of the episodes because each and every one has their own story lines tagged to themselves. Nine-Nine has steered away from the stereotypical notion that romance is the end-of-story goal in every show or season, and has given more weight-age to work, interpersonal relationships and friendships.

5) Social Issues are talked about

Brooklyn Nine Nine proves to include social issues on screen, but not necessarily in a way that is serious. For instance the captain had to face racial stigmatization and labeling because of his different preferences to men and women as well as being a black man. It further adds to the issue about what struggles he had to face with such allegations and problems and whether he should address the issue to the administration.

Unfair treatments in any system are talked about in the most satisfying and refreshing way that makes an issue much more impactful on the audience.
