Alok "Babuji" Nath Did What The Rest Of Bollywood Villains Didn't

Bollywood actor Alok Nath, who has been accused of sexually harassing writer-producer Vinta Nanda 19 years ago, has consequently been expelled by the Cine And Television Artistes Association (CINTAA).

However the twitterati has been taking on Alok Nath for his holier than thou role.

“In view of the various allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct against Nath, after due diligence and consideration, the Executive Committee of CINTAA has decided to expel him from the Association,” they wrote on Twitter.

As #MeToo gained momentum within India recently, with women coming out with their experiences, Nanda also shared her account of being harassed by Nath during the production of TV show Tara.

She then filed a case against the Hum Saath – Saath Hain actor. And since both Nanda and Nath were members of CINTAA, the association sent a letter to the accused seeking an explanation.

The association condemned the act of sexual harassment. “When the victim is complaining to us, we as the member of the federation will have to take a stand and we will do that,” stated Ashok Pandit, one of the members of CINTAA.
