Benazir Bhutto's biopic 'totally unacceptable' for her family

The news of Benazir Bhutto's biopic has been all over on social media ever since Mehwish Hayat confirmed it through an Instagram post.

While Pakistanis are quite excited to see the first look of the Punjab Nahi Jaungi star as the slain PPP leader, Benazir’s family did not find the news appealing, rather they consider the idea ‘totally unacceptable’.

Benazir’s elder daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari took to Twitter on Friday to express her disappointment over the matter.

She said that no consent has been taken from Benazir’s living heirs.

Bakhtawar further said that she would be taking (legal) action against the makers of the film.

“Certainly no consent from her [Benazir’s] living heirs/children was sought. Absolutely unacceptable and we will be taking action against it,” tweeted Bakhtawar.

Well, Mehwish cooled the matter down by responding to Bakhtawar’s tweet in a convincing manner and assured her that the project will not progress before taking consent from Benazir’s family.

Mehwish replied “To clarify the rumours circulating… There is a project at the very early stages of development about your amazing mother. This cannot and will not be done without the consent or blessings of your family. I am sure that the team involved will be in touch before they progress further.”

The Dillagi actor further added , “Meanwhile, as an actress, I am researching as much as I can about a real idol of mine. Irrespective of any film, I would love to meet someday and learn more about her.”
