Charity Work Can’t be Done by Bribing People-CJP to Malik Riaz

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday was seen unimpressed with the charity work of Malik Riaz. The business tycoon has quoted his charity works a number of times during the hearing of Karachi Bahria Town case. Malik Riaz swore that he had never bribed anyone to which the CJP said, “charity work can’t be done by bribing people”.

Malik Riaz further argued that he built Bahria Town so that the people in Pakistan could get affordable and quality housing and to make Pakistan a first world country. He also added their project included construction of Asia’s 3rd largest mosque, schools, zoo, old-age home and other facilities. CJP remarked that Malik Riaz can’t be allowed to continue ventures by using religious context as an excuse.

Riaz appeared today in court in a case pertaining to Bahria Town Karachi case where the housing society administration asked people to deposit outstanding dues in a new bank account as the court has stopped the housing society administration from collecting any payments.
