FIFA WORLD CUP 2018: Umtiti heads France into the final

Saint Peters-burg: Samuel Umtitis' 51st minute header was more than enough to guide France into the finals for the second time in the last three tournaments,

In what was regarded as the match of the tournament, both teams did not disappoint as we saw a mesmerising display of attacking football at both ends. France will surely be looking to amend the EURO 2016 loss in their own backyard by targeting the World Cup trophy. It could be their first World Cup since 1998. Labelled as the golden generation of France, the French got off to a slow start with the Belgium team beckoning on their goal but failing to make the chances pay.

Hugo Llrois, the France Captain and goal keeper was to thank as he saved spectacularly from fellow Tottenham Hotspur team mate Toby Alderweireld in an effort which was surely destined for goal. His counterpart Courtois didn't disappoint as he too made some spectacular saves, but was beaten by Sameul Umtiti at his near post when he headed in Antoine Greizmans corner. Chelsea star and Belgium Captain Eden Hazard seemed unstoppable but like the rest of his team failed to penetrate the French goal as Llrois was equally up to the challenge.

With their spot confirmed for Moscow, the French team will eagerly look at the other semi-final between Croatia and England as they await to find out who their opponents will be this Sunday.
