Gabrine Muguruza thrashed Maria Sharapova in French Open quarter finals.

Muguruza is through to semi-finals while Sharapova says goodbye to French Open. 

Garbine Muguruza thrashed Maria Sharapova in quarterfinals of French Open. The Spanish tennis star came stronger than her opponent to secure her spot in the semi-finals.  She won 6-2 and 6-1 in straight sets against Sharapova.

The game started off well for Muguruza as she played with her great skill to shake Maria Sharapova’s confidence in the first set. Sharapova was seen losing 3-0 in the first set however she tried to make a comeback but Muguruza had her mind sorted for any fortunate or unfortunate shot from the Russian tennis star.

Gabrine Muguruza played her splendid game to qualify for the semi-finals while Sharapova found herself struggling with powerful shots and serves.

Maria Sharapova qualified to quarterfinals due to Serena Williams’s withdrawal with an arm injury. It was an opportunity for the Russian star to win another French open after 2014 but nothing went her way.

Maria Sharapova’s serving was weak and she had 6 double faults in comparison to Muguruza’s 2.

Gabrine Muguruza will face Simona Halep from Romania in the semifinal at 6:00 pm today.

It will be a match of power, determination, creativity, strength, and experience.
