Here's What Your Basic Skincare Routine Should Look Like For That Glowing Skin

With the huge list of new and new products hitting the market everyday it can get overwhelming to know what to include in your basic skin care routine. I've made a guide to what your basic skin care routine mustttt include so you'll know what to buy on your next shopping trip.  


1. Double Cleansing

Tbh I can't believe I didn't know about double cleansing all my life. For the longest time I used to just wipe off any makeup residue with a wipe or miceller water after just using a normal facewash. 

But this technique changed my life forever and it does wonders for blackheads, clogged pores, acne and what not. 

What you need: Cleansing oil or lotion followed by any gel cream or face wash of your choice.

One of my favourites is Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil

Gently massage in the cleansing oil or lotion removing all makeup and rinse off with water. This step will break off any makeup, dirt, SPF on your face. Using a cleansing oil or lotion also keeps your skin from drying too much which is especially great in winters or if you have dry skin.


Then double cleanse using your favourite cleanser. This second step will ensure all product is removed and your skin will feel awesomeee and super clean.

Double cleanse once everyday before going to bed as that's the best time to. You can skip this in the morning.

2. MOISTURIZE

No matter how oily your skin is NEVER skip this step. It is a very common misconception that you don't need to moisturize if you have oily skin.

NEVER DO THAT. I REPEAT. NEVER.


ALWAYS keep your skin moisturized as it will delay fine lines and keep your skin young. My skin is super dry so I double moisturize sometimes.  Also take your time to massage the product in.

SUN PROTECTION

I can't stress this enough. No matter how many acne products or scar treatments you use if you are not protecting your skin from sun damage you can't achieve the results you are hoping for. 

It causes skin to age faster also.

WEAR SPF. BREATHE SPF. THINK SPF. EAT SPF.


 Okay kidding. Don't eat it.

 But here's my FAVOURITE sunscreen although you can really use any that you have.
