Zara Noor Abbas is a girl who appears to have come out of nowhere but today she is one of the biggest faces of the Pakistani television industry. People are calling her the next Mahira Khan and we are not surprised!
Mahira Khan was a mediocre VJ on MTV Pakistan for ages but only came to the limelight with her debut in record-breaking Humsafar opposite heartthrob Fawad Khan. Humsafar was directed by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat and aired on Hum TV. The rest has been history for Mahira as she has never looked back ever since that point in her life and has only soared higher and higher!
Zara Noor Abbas has much of a similar story to Mahira Khan in terms of popularity.
Zara Noor Abbas is the daughter of veteran Pakistani actor Asma Abbas and niece of legendary Bushra Ansari, Sumbal Shahid and Neelam Bashir. She is the granddaughter of Ahmed Bashir. However, despite belonging to a family from the showbiz, Zara was never allowed to enter the television industry by her father who is a colonel in the Pakistan Army. Zara graduated from BNU in Lahore with a degree in theater and art and taught at a primary level school for some time before setting up her own clothing line called ‘Zara Noor Abbas Clothing’. Her real passion however, laid in acting and she went ahead to tell her father it was acting for her or nothing else.
She made her debut in a supporting role in drama serial Dharkan that aired on Hum TV. Her solo debut as the main lead was in Khamoshi opposite Bilal Khan and Affan Waheed. The show broke all TRP rating records and made Zara an overnight television sensation. Her portrayal of the role ‘Arsala’ garnered her immense praise from the audiences and critics alike.
As ironic as it might seem but in midst of all the comparisons being made between Mahira and Zara, Zara Noor is all set to make her big screen debut in Asim Raza’s next film. She will be sharing screen space with Mahira in the movie alongside Shehryar Munawar.
On a personal front, she is married to Asad Siddiqui who is also a very popular face of the Pakistan TV industry. Zara-Asad’s couple also got a lot of popularity and love from the people of Pakistan. They married in an intimate ceremony on 27th December 2017 in Karachi that was attended by family and friends. Born in Lahore, Zara has now moved to Karachi where she lives with her husband and in-laws.
