It was only another addition to the list of milestones that Mahira has achieved till date. From working in her debut Bollywood film with Shahrukh Khan to being romantically linked to heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor – Mahira sure knows how to stay in the headlines. She is at it again as she prepares to make her debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2018.
Even though the Pakistani film industry has been around for decades now, this will be the first time ever in history of the film festival that a Pakistani celebrity is invited to attend Cannes Festival. Mahira Khan is adding another feather to her hat by becoming the first Pakistani celebrity to debut at the film festival in history.
It came as a huge revelation when in 2017 Mahira Khan was named the first official spokesperson for the world popular brand L’Oreal. Mahira has been invited to attend the festival as the official hair care spokesperson on behalf of L’Oreal.
Mahire has finally confirmed and also spoken about her appearance at Cannes. Talking about her big upcoming appearance, Mahira couldn’t contain her excitement and happiness. She admitted to be very nervous but at the same time very excited about her debut. However, she accepts that the pressure of being the first Pakistani celebrity to attend Cannes and also to represent Pakistan along with L’Oreal is definitely overwhelming.
She was also asked on what she plans to wear to the red carpet. She only laughed the question off as Mahira claims that she is not even thinking about her dress at the moment because her primary concern is not to trip over her own dress on the red carpet. Cannes film festival red carpet is popular for being the longest red carpet in the world. We can surely empathize with Mahira here as nobody would want to trip over their own dress with the world’s media watching!
She was attending a press conference on Tuesday in Karachi.
The Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to happen later in May 2018 and big celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Meryl Streep, Aishwariya Rai, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor are all expected to attend.
