Melania Trump has once again erupted a controversy due to her choice of wardrobe and this time it is all due to: “I really don’t care, do u?”.
As Melania boarded an Air Force plane to set-off for a surprise trip to the migrant children at the Texas-Mexico border, she selected olive green Zara army jacket paired with white trainers. That all seems perfect unless you look at the back of the jacket where white graffiti-style words are scribbled that clearly and loudly say: “I really don’t care, do u?”.
When her boarding pictures surfaced online, the world could not help but call this move as “heartless”, “unthinking” and “insensitive” considering the sensitive nature of the occasion for which she was going.
Some people wondered that why a lady who always goes for high-end fashion brands like Valentino or Ralph Lauren selected a jacket from a brand for masses that costs a mere $39 – may be the least expensive garment she wore after becoming the First Lady – while others called it as a loud representation of White House’s policy.
However, amidst this chaos, Melania’s spoke person Stephanie Grisham has said that there isn’t any hidden meaning behind this. “It’s a jacket,” she said. “There was no hidden message. After today’s important visit to Texas, I hope this isn’t what the media is going to choose to focus on.”
But this is not for the first time that her selection of wardrobe has come under the radar and for all wrong reasons. She has garnered similar reactions from the Muslim community when she wore a belted jumpsuit during her visit to Saudi Arabia and an outcry from the public when she rode on high heels on her way to Texas as she visited the site of disaster caused by Hurricane Harvey.
Nevertheless, no matter that there was a hidden meaning behind it or not, the question is that how come nobody was able to foresee the predictable consequences of this wardrobe selection?
