Pakistan Cricket Team Donates Rs3.2m To Dams’ Fund

Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfraz Ahmed has announced that the entire squad will donate Rs3.2 million for the construction of dams in the country.

Speaking at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Sarfraz said that building of dams would benefit the country in the future.

“The public should actively contribute in dam fund, it would benefit the country,” he said. “Pakistani cricket team has contributed Rs3.2 million in dam fund.”

Earlier, Pakistan umpire Aleem Dar had also announced that he is going to contribute $10,000 to the dams fund project.

“I have decided to contribute $10,000 for the dams fund initiative,” he said in a video message.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar initiated the the Dam fund by donating Rs1 million initially for the two dams and urged all Pakistanis including the institutions to play their due role for the construction of the dams in the country.

Pakistan's Supreme Court had directed authorities to immediately start construction of the two dams and appealed to the people, primarily overseas Pakistanis, to make a contribution for executing the dam projects.

The premiere Imran Khan has also partnered in this initiative and appealed to the countrymen, especially overseas Pakistanis, to generously contribute to the Dam Fund.
