Pakistan leads the way at the XXI Commonwealth Games in April on the Gold Coast in Australia

The Pakistan Olympics Association exclusively selected two students from the whole of the country to represent the youth of Pakistan They accompanied the Pakistani athletics teams to The Commonwealth Games in Australia to participate in the Opening Ceremony Laiba Najeeb and Muhammad Jazlan students of The City School Lahore enjoyed this extraordinary opportunity These young Pakistanis were then invited by the Pakistan Olympic Association to the games and were generously sponsored by the Australian High Commission

This was agreed when the Queenrsquos Baton arrived in Lahore last October Over many months the Queenrsquos Baton Relay is handed from one commonwealth country to another until all the participating countries have taken it into their possession It is then taken to the Opening Ceremony of Commonwealth Games

Not only did they lead the way at the Opening Ceremony but they also supported the Pakistan Team in several sporting venues across the Gold Coast from Brisbane to Townsville These young supporters celebrated the victory of Pakistani weightlifter Talha Talib for winning the Bronze medal in weightlifting

Whilst enjoying this sporting event of a lifetime the young members were also able to forge links with their Australian partner school Clover Hill to collaborate with in the future
