Peshawar Zalmi Has Already Won Hearts Even Before PSL Even Started

Lahore cheered up for Peshawar Zalmi when children of SOS village and Children’s Hospital in Lahore celebrated the birthday of Peshawar Zalmi’s captain, Darren Sammy. The West Indian cricket team captain, Darren Sammy, is one of the most loved and talented international cricketers in Pakistan, for more than just one reason. With a persona as easy going and passionate as his, who wouldn’t like him?

The kids were filled with joy and verve while celebrating the birthday with the Zalmi management. The Zalmi management distributed Zalmi goodie bags amongst the kids after the cake cutting ceremony. The foreign cricketer also never holds back when expressing his love and affection for his Pakistani fans and vice versa, which is quite clear from this recent birthday celebrations. Earlier, Sammy made it clear that he is not only the ambassador of Peshawar Zalmi, but also for Pakistan itself where he mentioned “Pakistani people love me, and I love them back.”

During the ceremony, a short Q&A session was held in which children were given exclusive Peshawar Zalmi merchandise- the children celebrated every gift with overwhelming joy and love for the cricketer. The Peshawar Zalmi chairman along with its Zalmi players and management wished the captain Darren Sammy, a very Happy Birthday.

Sammy won the hearts of many Pakistani fans through his comments on the joy of playing in their country. Last year, in addition to wearing the traditional pagri (turban) and even danced to traditional Pakistan music with his teammates.

The greetings and well wishes poured in from all around the world and not just in Pakistan. Andre Russell, Andre Fletcher and global cricketers along with several other Zalmi fans wished Sammy.
