Portrayal of musician in a Bollywood movie is always a success!

It seems like everyone in Bollywood wants to play a musician or singer at least once in their career! This year two movies with two of the biggest superstars of Bollywood at the moment – Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh have been confirmed.

Both are different movies; one stars Ranveer whilst the other stars Alia. Yet the one thing both movies will have in common is the main lead role as both actors will be depicting the role of a singer in their respective movies. 

In his movie, Ranveer Singh is playing a rockstar and the film is being directed by Manish Sharma. 

On the other hand, Alia Bhatt is going to be seen in the role of an aspiring young singer in a film by Ashwini Iyer.

Music-based films in which actors or actresses portray the role of a singer or musician always connect amazingly with the audiences. It is not the first time that any actor or actress is doing a movie on such genre. In the past there has been a long list of actors who have played the roles of musicians in their films and the movies went on to become mega hits as well.

Rockstar

Rockstar is an Indian movie that starred Ranbir Kapoor and Narghis Fakhari in the lead roles. The film is sighted as one of the biggest successes of commercial Indian cinema and is also dubbed as one of the best performances by Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir played the role of a rockstar musician in the movie.

Ashiqui 2

Ashiqui 2 was the debut movie for Aditya Roy Kapur and Shradda Kapoor. The movie portrays Aditya Roy as a popular Indian singer whilst Shradda is seen in the role of an aspiring singer who sings at a local pub.

Rock On

Rock On was the debut of director Farhan Akhtar. The movie became a huge success and Farhan was ironically praised for his acting skills. He played the role of a rockstar music band’s lead vocalist. Arjun Rampal starred in the movie alongside Farhan as his music band team mate.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is though a romantic drama film by Karan Johar. The film was one of the biggest successes of 2016 with a major star cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwariya Rai, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan. Ranbir Kapoor played the role of an aspiring singer in the movie who uses the medium of music to express his feelings.

Kaho Na Pyaar Hai

Kaho Na Pyaar Hai was the debut movie of now-superstar Hritik Roshan. The film is one of the biggest blockbusters of Hritik’s professional career and he played a double role in the movie. Both his roles played the role of a singer in the movie.
