Saudi Crown Prince Holds Secret Meeting with Israeli PM Netanyahu

ISLAMABAD - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman held a secret meeting in the Jordanian capital Amman, media reports say.

Israeli newspaper Maariv reported on Friday that Netanyahu called on Arab leaders on the sidelines of White House special advisor Jared Kushner and US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt's visit to Jordan.

The meeting took place in the Royal Palace with and without the presence of Jordan’s King Abdullah, the newspaper claimed, citing informed sources.

Israel and Saudi Arabia have no diplomatic ties but Trump’s 2017 Islamic Summit has brought the two rivals close to find out a ‘solution’ against the common enemy, Iran.

Both Saudi and Israeli governments have developed secret liaisons and are even preparing to establish formal relations.

Kushner and Greenblatter are on a regional tour to deliberate US’ so-called peace plan with officials in the occupied territories including Qatar, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

The US envoys met Saudi Crown Prince on Wednesday as part of the tour ."Increasing cooperation between the United States and Saudi Arabia, the need to facilitate humanitarian relief to Gaza, and the Trump administration’s efforts to facilitate peace between the Israelis and Palestinians," a White House statement read.
