Sonam Kapoor clarifies her recent comments in defence of Swara Bhaskar

Bollywood starlet Sonam Kapoor recently made a statement in defense of her Veeray Di Wedding co-star Swara Bhaskar. Her statements were apparently perceived by the audience as defending Swara over her ‘failing state’ comment about Pakistan.

However, the actress did not mean it that way. Sonam took to Twitter to clarify that her recent comments were not meant to defend Swara over her offensive comments about Pakistan. Rather, she was supporting Swara over a specific scene of hers from Veeray Di Wedding over which she is being criticized.

Sonam tweeted, “My defence has nothing to do with Swara’s comments on Pakistan. Get your facts right and stop spreading mischief.”

Swara Bhaskar is being heavily criticized over the social media due to her overtly sexual scene in Veeray Di Wedding.

The Neerja actress previously said that people like trolling Swara because she holds a strong opinion and point of view.

Earlier Sonam had tweeted “I think people just like to troll her because she has an opinion and a point of view, and I guess that shows how much they love her because the other side of hate is always love. So Swara, you have a lot of lovers!”

Talking about the unexpected ban on Veeray Di Wedding in Pakistan, in an interview with Indian film critic Rajeev Masand, Swara had used inappropriate remarks for Pakistan and called it ‘a failing state.’

Kareena Kapoor-starrer Veeray Di Wedding  was shunned for release in Pakistan due to its vulgar content.
