Veeray Di Wedding producer sends love to Pakistani fans

Most Pakistanis had planned to watch the recently released and much awaited Bollywood movie Veere Di Wedding this weekend. However, to their utter dismay the censor board banned the movie from releasing here, due to its ‘vulgar content’.

It seems that the makers of the film can feel the pain of Pakistanis who were more than excited to watch the women-centric flick. Rhea Kapoor, the producer of the film, has sent her love all the way to the fans of the movie in Pakistan via social media.

“To all our veeres (friends) in Pakistan, we love you ladies,” Rhea posted in her Instagram story, a day after the movie was banned from hitting the silver screens all across Pakistan.

According to the censor board and film distributors, the film is shunned from screening due to objectionable content and indecent language.

As soon as the decision of the ban was announced, fans eagerly waiting for the release of the film took to Twitter to express their furore. Most were of the view that the ban was unnecessary and unjustified.

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh and starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor in key roles, Veere Di Wedding is about four friends who are making preps to attend a wedding.

The cast of the film also includes actors Swara Bhaskar and Sheikhs Talsamia. The film was scheduled to release in Pakistan and worldwide on June 1.
