It was a disastrous performance by the world eleven against the tremendous performance from the opposition team, West Indies. ICC World XI by winning the toss chose to bowl first against West Indies at Lord's ground in England. The match was organized to help raise funds for the refurbishment of five cricket stadiums in the Caribbean, mangled by the 2017 hurricanes.
West Indies XI was comprised upon Chris Gayle, E Lewis, Ashley Nurse, K Paul, R Powell, Marlon Samuels, K Williams, Samuel Badree, Carlos Brathwaite, A Fletcher, and R Emrit.
World XI was compiled upon S Afridi, Sam Billings, Sam Curran, T Iqbal, T Mills, D Karthik, Rashid Khan, Mitchell McClenaghan, S Malik, Luke Ronchi, A Rashid, T Perera, S Lamichane.
Originally the England player E Morgan was selected to be the Skipper at lords from World XI but after he sustained an injury and broke his finger during one day match on 27 May, he was replaced by Shahid Afridi the Pakistani legend and a famous cricket player.

Chasing such a huge total of 200 is never quite easy for any team in just 20 over, Thisara was the only one who outshined throughout the World XI for scoring his best 61, reducing the margin of defeat. The whole team was sent to pavilion for 127 runs, hence the West Indies won the match so calmly and comfortably.
