Who is the owner of the land created by the volcano in Hawaii?

The archipelago of Hawaii is one of the smallest states of the United States. However, it had been growing over time. The recent volcanic eruption spread over an area of 2400 acres. As the lava enters the ocean, it cools down and spreads the island into the ocean. The biggest volcano in Hawaii is Kilauea. It had helped Hawaii expand over a period of millennia. So the question arises: who is the owner of the new land created? The simple and terse answer is: The state. David Callies, a professor at the University of Hawaii, stated the new land created by hardened lava in the ocean belongs to the state. According to him, such an area is called lava extensions. Lava extensions were the core of a Supreme Court case in 1977. In the case, two residents sued the state over 7.9 acres of new land created by the volcanic eruption of 1955. The court ruled in the favor of the state. It asserted that lava extensions should be used everyone. In short, no one can claim the ownership of the land created by a volcanic eruption except one entity: the state. People over the years have tried tooth and nail to grasp the ownership of such a land but they have failed. However, it would be cool to own a land that once never existed and made purely out of molten lava!
