Zaman Heroics Lifts Tri-Series Trophy for Pakistan

HARARE: Pakistani opener Fakhar Zaman scored a career best 91 to steer Pakistan towards the finish line in a six wicket win against Australia in the tri-series finale being held in Zimbabwe.

The Australians won the toss electing to bat first and set up a total of a mammoth 184 runs for Pakistan to chase. In reply, despite a rocky start the number one t-20 side chased down the total with 4 balls to spare. Fakhar Zaman was named man of the match as well as the man of the series for his wonderful batting throughout the tri-series. Shoaib Malik finished as the second top scorer with 43 runs, providing a steady hand to the Pakistani batting line up. It was a day to forget for Pakistani Debutante Sahibzada Farhan as he was stumped first ball, followed by Hussain Talats' dismissal several deliveries later.

The Australians were considered to be well in control of the match but Muhammad Amirs' 4 wickets proved to be crucial factor in restricting an Australian side who at one point was 90 for no loss in the first 10 overs. In reply, the Australian bowling proved to be a tough hurdle for the Pakistani batsmen but Fakhar Zaman and Shoaib Malik were up to the challenge to guide the Pakistani team towards victory.
